In taking on this difficult case, which claimants would not be able to afford on their own, Jay was awarded the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association John A. McLeish award for his contribution to access to justice.
Jay has been counsel at all levels of court including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court of Canada.
Jay is a past director of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA). OTLA advocates for equal access to justice and full and fair legal protection of persons who have suffered injuries. He is a long-standing member of the OTLA interventions committee.
