Christine Murray has been a partner at MRPC since 1995. She provides representation to:
- Plaintiffs in personal injury claims including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, medical negligence, hospital negligence, senior home negligence, and animal attacks;
- Applicants to the Consent and Capacity Board; and
- Applicants to the Health Professions Appeal Review Board
Christine is a lawyer member of the Ontario Review Board (ORB), which reviews the status of individuals found unfit to stand trial or not criminally responsible on account of mental disorder. The ORB determines whether individuals continue to present a significant risk to the public.
Christine has extensive experience appearing before tribunals. She has regularly appeared before the Consent and Capacity Board in applications involving involuntary committal, consent to treatment, financial capacity, and community treatment orders.
She is the managing partner at MRPC.
Christine currently sits on the Royal Victoria Hospital Research Ethics Board, which ensures that protection of the rights, safety, and well-being of human participants involved in research at RVH. She was previously on the Board of Directors of the Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary. The sanctuary provides safe permanent refuge for primates that have endured a variety of hardships including medical and neurological research. She is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Simcoe County. Also, she is an avid supporter of the arts and has served on the Board of Directors of several regional theatres. Christine is an award-winning author and a playwright.
